Zebra 10010044 Z-Select 4000D 3" x 2" Direct Thermal Labels, 6 Rolls/Case
Part 10010044
Zebra 10010044 Z-Select 4000D labels are 3" x 2" white direct thermal paper labels for product identification, inventory barcodes and indoor retail labeling. The smooth coated paper prints without a ribbon, while permanent all-temperature acrylic adhesive helps keep labels attached during everyday handling. Perforations make individual labels easy to separate.
Each case contains 6 rolls of 1,240 labels, totaling 7,440 labels. The 1" core and 5" outer diameter suit printers configured for this roll format; verify the exact printer's media requirements before ordering.

Coated paper construction
Z-Select 4000D combines a 3.2 mil coated direct thermal paper facestock, a 0.8 mil adhesive layer and a 2.3 mil, 40 lb. semi-bleached kraft liner. Total construction thickness is 6.3 mil ±10%. Zebra specifies good print quality at speeds up to 10 inches per second for this material. Actual print speed depends on printer capability, settings and label design.
Applications and printer fit
Use this format for product identification, stock organization, price marking and work-in-process labeling. Direct thermal printing eliminates the need to load or replace a thermal transfer ribbon.
Check that your printer supports direct thermal media, the media width, 1" core, 5" roll diameter and material thickness. Verify sensing and media-handling requirements for the exact model. A printer's nominal print width alone does not establish compatibility.
Temperature and storage
- Minimum application temperature: -20°F (-29°C)
- Service temperature: -65°F to 140°F (-54°C to 60°C)
- Optimal storage: 72°F (22°C) at 50% relative humidity
Application temperature refers to conditions when attaching the label. Service temperature refers to exposure after application and is not the permitted initial application temperature. Pre-test adhesion and print readability on the intended surface under actual operating conditions.
Exposure limitations
Z-Select 4000D has limited resistance to moisture and abrasion and is not recommended for outdoor use. Window cleaner, alcohol, ammonia, bleach, IPA, gasoline, grease, oil, acetone, MEK, TCE and xylene are not recommended exposures. Choose media designed for tougher conditions when chemical resistance, heavy abrasion or outdoor durability is required.
Frequently asked questions
What size are Zebra 10010044 labels?
Each label is 3" wide by 2" long (76.2 x 50.8 mm).
How many labels are included?
There are 1,240 labels per roll and 6 rolls per case, totaling 7,440 labels.
Do these labels require a ribbon?
No. These are direct thermal labels and print without a thermal transfer ribbon.
Are the labels perforated?
Yes. The roll is perforated for easy label separation.
Will this roll fit my printer?
Your printer must support direct thermal printing and accept the media width, 1" core, 5" outer diameter and material thickness. Check the exact model's sensing and handling requirements before ordering. Contact us for help checking fit.
What print speed is supported?
Zebra specifies good print quality up to 10 inches per second for Z-Select 4000D material. Printer capability, settings and the label design determine the appropriate operating speed.
Can these labels be applied at -65°F?
No. The minimum application temperature is -20°F (-29°C). The -65°F lower service limit describes exposure after application.
Are these suitable for outdoor or wet environments?
They are not recommended for outdoor use and have limited moisture and abrasion resistance. Select a material intended for those exposures when needed.
How should unused rolls be stored?
Optimal storage conditions are 72°F (22°C) at 50% relative humidity.
