Material construction

Z-Select 4000T uses a 2.7 mil white topcoated paper facestock, a 0.5 mil permanent acrylic adhesive layer and a 2.5 mil, 40 lb. semi-bleached kraft liner. Total construction thickness is 5.7 mil ±10%. The ultra-smooth surface supports high-quality thermal transfer printing, including high-speed applications with an appropriate ribbon and printer setup.

Indoor labeling applications

The 3" x 2" format provides space for product descriptions, barcodes, inventory identifiers and price information. Use it for packaging identification, work-in-process tracking and indoor retail or warehouse labeling. This paper material is not recommended for outdoor use.

Temperature and storage

  • Minimum application temperature: 30°F (-1°C)
  • Service temperature range: -65°F to 200°F (-54°C to 93°C)
  • Optimal storage: 72°F (22°C) at 50% relative humidity

Apply labels at or above the minimum application temperature. The service range describes exposure after application, not the temperature at which labels can first be attached. Pre-test adhesion and print performance on the intended surface under actual operating conditions.

Printer fit and ribbon selection

Choose a thermal transfer printer that accepts the media width, 1" core, 5" roll diameter and material thickness. Check the exact model's media sensing and ribbon requirements; media width alone does not establish compatibility. Pair the labels with a compatible wax or wax/resin ribbon in the dimensions, winding and core configuration required by your printer. Zebra's material sheet evaluates the 2000, 6000 and 6100 ribbon families; select the appropriate configuration for your equipment and application.

Exposure limitations

Test the complete label-and-ribbon combination for the intended end use. Alcohol, ammonia, bleach, IPA, gasoline, grease, oil, acetone, MEK, TCE and xylene are not recommended exposures for the evaluated ribbon combinations. These paper labels are not a substitute for outdoor-rated or solvent-resistant media.

Frequently asked questions

What size are Zebra 10009529 labels?

Each label is 3" wide by 2" long (76.2 x 50.8 mm).

How many labels come in a case?

Each case contains 6 rolls of 1,370 labels, for a total of 8,220 labels.

Is a ribbon required?

Yes. These are thermal transfer labels and require a compatible ribbon, sold separately.

Are these labels perforated?

Yes. Zebra 10009529 labels are perforated for easy separation.

What roll dimensions must my printer accept?

Your printer must accept the media width, a 1" core and a 5" outer diameter, as well as the material thickness. Verify media sensing and ribbon compatibility for the exact printer model.

Can these labels be applied below freezing?

The specified minimum application temperature is 30°F (-1°C). The -65°F service rating does not mean labels can be applied at that temperature.

Are these suitable for outdoor use?

No. Z-Select 4000T paper is not recommended for outdoor use. Select outdoor-rated media for exterior exposure.

How should unused rolls be stored?

Optimal storage conditions are 72°F (22°C) at 50% relative humidity.
