Zebra 10010043 Z-Select 4000D labels are 3" x 1" white direct thermal paper labels for shelf-edge identification, price marking and compact product barcodes. Smooth coated paper prints without a ribbon, while permanent all-temperature acrylic adhesive supports everyday indoor labeling. Perforations make labels easy to separate during retail and warehouse tasks.

Sold by the case: 6 rolls containing 2,340 labels each, totaling 14,040 labels. Each roll has a 1" core and a 5" outer diameter. Check your printer's media requirements before ordering.

Material construction and printing

Z-Select 4000D combines a 3.2 mil coated direct thermal paper facestock, a 0.8 mil adhesive layer and a 2.3 mil, 40 lb. semi-bleached kraft liner. Total construction thickness is 6.3 mil ±10%. Zebra specifies good print quality at speeds up to 10 inches per second for this material. The appropriate operating speed depends on your printer, settings and label design.

Compact indoor labeling

The narrow format suits shelf labels, price strips, inventory barcodes and product identification where space is limited. Match the barcode and text layout to the available label area. Direct thermal printing eliminates the need to load or replace a thermal transfer ribbon.

Printer compatibility checks

Use a direct thermal printer that accepts the media width, 1" core, 5" roll diameter and material thickness. Check sensing and media-handling requirements for the exact model. A printer's nominal print width alone does not establish roll compatibility. Contact us for help checking fit before ordering.

Temperature and storage

  • Minimum application temperature: -20°F (-29°C)
  • Service temperature: -65°F to 140°F (-54°C to 60°C)
  • Optimal storage: 72°F (22°C) at 50% relative humidity

Application temperature refers to conditions when attaching a label. Service temperature refers to exposure after application, not the permitted initial application temperature. Pre-test adhesion and print readability on the intended surface under actual operating conditions.

Exposure limitations

This paper material has limited resistance to moisture and abrasion and is not recommended for outdoor use. Window cleaner, alcohol, ammonia, bleach, IPA, gasoline, grease, oil, acetone, MEK, TCE and xylene are not recommended exposures. Choose media designed for tougher conditions when solvent resistance, heavy abrasion or outdoor durability is required.
